Protests in Tibet as diplomats fly away

March 29th, 2008

There were more protests in Tibet today. As a group of diplomats were flying out of Tibet, hundreds of Tibetans are reported to have protested in Lhasa. We sat around the dinner table tonight trying to imagine the scene. Their bravery. The chaos. How long can they keep this up? What is happening inside? No pictures. Barely a whisper of what happened.

yes, like you said “hundreds of Tibetans are reported to have protested in Lhasa”.

but please do remember the fact that there are more than 2,600,000+ people in tibet, which includes around 93% actual tibetans, 6% han, and 1% others.

therefore, makes the number “hundreds” quite small.

same as quebec to canada, i would imagin a very small amount of popel who does seek for independence, but still, they are only the minority.
the western media, i hope, would interview some victims of the riots in the future or use the video clips of interviews that were already recorded by locals. so at least people can see both sides of the story :)
