Shocking Footage from Tibet

March 20th, 2009

The Tibetan government-in-exile just released this shocking footage smuggled out from Tibet. It is awful. I sat at my desk and cried while I watched it. The Chinese government doesn’t see Tibetans as human beings. They never have.

WARNING: This video includes extremely graphic footage.

We’ve heard so many accounts about the terrible violence the authorities have used against Tibetans in the past year, but this is the first video footage that has made it out. It’s very hard to watch, but it is our truth and nothing China does can hide this from the world.

Here’s Students for a Free Tibet’s statement in response to the footage.

Tibet must seek justice for what China has treated them badly. It’s a shame of how China was jealous of Tibet, and its not good at all. They must find a way in order for the two countries to be peaceful and live a normal good relationship.

  • Peter jamieson says:

This is one of the saddest situations on the planet, no one has the right to inflict such pain on another human being, those who think they can are psychotic.

  • Grace Cooney says:

I am really shocked with this and its a sad situation with the Tibetans this shouldn’t happen and this is very common in different parts of the world over land or wanting tp practice their faith, I am not sure what the answer is but communication is needed people need to keep up the protest. I believe if someone believes in whatever the choose to that they should be able to practice with freedom. China doesn;t want any part of a another country within China especially for Tibetans, monks of Tibet should never give up or anyone who has a religion that they believe in that is being killed because of it or the land.

  • juan says:

when will we find the cure to the soul sickness the humanity has?

  • Chris says:

This is disgusting. I can’t believe that people still do these sorts of things. I guess history does repeat itself, although not in a literal manner. But hey, who are we to criticize moral judgments when they cross cultural borders?
