Harmonious Society?
*NOTE: The CNN report was taken off YouTube within a couple of hours of my post but you can still watch it here:

I just found this CNN report about forced evictions in China on a Tibetan friend’s Facebook page. The story is from Qingdao, southeast of Beijing, where homes are being demolished by developers backed by the local government. The scenes of hired thugs beating villagers as they try to protect their homes are shocking. I can barely stand to listen to the old woman crying in despair for her lost home: “How am I going to live? Where will I find the money?” It breaks my heart.

Seems that the video was removed before I had a chance to see it.
Was it that violent?
I couldn’t find the story from CNN either.
Is it available from somewhere else?

Hmm, thousands of copyright-infringing music videos and TV shows and movies remain on youtube for years, yet this CNN clip gets removed within hours?! Hmm, I wonder who’s in bed with the Chinese now. Is it CNN or is it Google (owners of youtube)?

Rich,
Mind your language. Your vulgar English reveals nothing more than your failure to make the best out of your education.

Mr. S.Cai,
Why should he mind his language, he is pointing out the fact that self-censorship is rampant among western media regarding China and also among western scholars writing about China. This article tells more about this issue:

Lhadon - many thanks for your ongoing reports.
Rich - thanks for reminding us that we must continue to connect the dots. also, i’ve been a writer and editor for years, and I want to assure you of the obvious: there is nothing wrong with your use of the English language. A+ my friend.

It seems likely to me that both Rich and S. Cai are making the best of their education. It only makes one realize how different the education that each of them received must have been in the first place.
I think Rich asked an important question - who and why DID remove that video so quickly from youtube?

I’d like to ask the moderator why a response put up by me yesterday didn’t show up here. Is there any inappropriateness in my words?
It looks to me that who removed the video was quite obvious. It was youtube. And the reason was copyright infringement, because that video is CNN’s news report.
I know that although this is a good explanation, many people hanging on this blog would still disagree with me, thinking that some self-censorship was at working. This idea has no ground, since there are plenty of China-bashing videos on youtube. Why would youtube remove just this particular one?

Um, what language? The only thing I can find there remotely along the lines of “vulgar” is “in bed with”, and that’s appeared in all sorts of mainstream news articles.

Well if that is true, I take back my accusation, realizing the vulgar trend of the mainstream media.

Well, well, well…..
is it just me or do i smell a stench of pro CCP in here…
S. Cai: it is so obvious that you are trying very… very… extremely very hard to sound objective/neutral about this issue but it is not hard, not hard at all to see your true cynical mind at work here…you are only fooling yourself
as far as true tibetan: first of all, you are not a Tibetan (kheyrang bhoepa yin laka chey ki dukpa yinayang mi tsangma haguki yo rek…) so what do you think about what i just said?
exactly, thats what i thought…
Lhadon felt this way about the subjet, who wouldn’t? i mean, wouldn’t you feel this sad if your family gets kicked out of their house?
but of course, you wouldn’t know that, cuz you are CCP’s employee…and of course you wouldn’t bother to do your own research because your humanity has been crushed by CCP…
if you guys (or i think its just 1 person attempting to post as some one else) do your own research, you will see, you will definitely see the CCP’s true nature, and that is, CCP’s operation has only been to maintain its corrupt/brutal power over its brainwashed citizens….to put it simply what ever CCP does leads & contributes more and more towards destruction of a once, great country (China) but more importantly, its people….
S. Cai & true tibetan….huh, get a f**kin grip and read up on some of the articles on these sites
