China has invited the world to visit in August 2008. Exactly one year out, I've traveled to the heart of the nation that has brutally occupied my homeland for over 50 years. Follow this blog, as I share what I see, feel, and experience... leaving Beijing wide open.

Interview with Jamyang Norbu part 2

“… we don’t fight for freedom on the premise that we are bound to win. We fight because there is an injustice. Winning and losing is secondary.” - Jamyang Norbu

Here is the second part of my interview with acclaimed Tibetan writer and activist Jamyang Norbu. It opens with Jamyang responding to the criticism of SFT’s recent protest actions in Tibet and China, which some say are irresponsible and actually harming the Tibetan people. He also addresses China’s environmental crisis.

You can watch part 1 here.

(And again, sorry for the feedback!)

These interviews are wonderful. Thank you Lhadon and Jamyang Norbu. I especially love the history lessons included in the interviews. I’ve ordered “The Mandala of Sherlock Holmes” from Amazon - can’t wait to read it.

If you haven’t read about the “We want human rights, not the Olympics” petition in Heilongjiang Province, which has apparently attracted 10,000 signatures and landed the organizer in jail, you can check it out on Amnesty’s website.

I enjoy keeping up on your blog, it’s an inspiration. Best wishes, Celia
